15 Things You Need To Build Your Blog And Business

Without further Ado let’s dive straight into what they are.

1. Computer:

If you are planning to build your first online business or even a blog you definitely need a laptop or a high-end computer. It needs to help you do work faster otherwise you’ll be really slow in terms of getting work done. With your phone or your tablet, you can’t do anything.

All the designing and marketing can be done from your laptop.

Getting a MacBook Pro can actually really helpful, because of the processing speed and the time it can save so much time. If you can’t afford a MacBook Pro, you can still get one of the High Processing Windows Laptop too!

The idea here is to help you save time and get things done faster. I actually hate slow computers.

2. Internet Connection:

Having an Internet Connection is very important without which you won’t be able to build your online blog & business. Also, your internet speed needs to be really good. You need to make sure your upload and download speeds are good.

Without a high-speed Internet Connection, you will not be able to get your work done. I can’t stress enough how much this is going to bother you if don’t have a high-speed internet connection.

If you plan to travel and work, carry or rent this travel hotspot device that helps you ensure you have a reliable connection.

In order to build your blog and online business, you will need to keep aside money so you can invest into certain things like your website, email address, investing in training and courses, your accounting tools and other tools listed below.

Initially, you just need your website and your email address up. It’s good to save money from your day job and keep them aside to invest in other tools, softwares, and trainings that will dramatically save you time and money.

4. Website:

This is an obvious one. If you are building an online blog or business you need a website.

Your website should have content for people to know what kind of business you are and have offers or services so people can request your services or buy your products.

You need to get an official email address to communicate with your customers or your website/blog readers. I use the one from Gmail.

You need to get one that has your name@yourwebsite.com. You can get one from Google that integrates your email address in Gmail.

This kind of official email address will help you say that you are serious about building your online business.

6. Bank Account:

You also need a bank account in order to receive payments or make payments for your business.

Initially, people use their personal bank account, but later as they begin to receive payments they use a corporate account that will be under their business name. You too can switch over later.

It is always good to keep your business expenses separate from your personal expenses.

Also, you should treat every aspect of your online business as a real business and keep it professional. This ensures that you are here for real work and real business.

7. Credit/Debit Card:

Almost every transaction you do online involves the usage of a Credit/Debit Card. Most International Transactions involve the usage of a Credit Card.

Start out with a Debit Card but eventually, you will need a Credit Card as its needed for business transactions.

8. Paypal:

The reason you need a Paypal account is to collect or send payments for transactions of your products or services that happen in your online business.

It is so handy and it’s one of the most important things you need to have in your online business.

If you don’t have a system to collect payments for your products and services, how can you do business or how will your business survive? Think about it!

9. Social Media Presence:

After you’ve set up your online blog or business, the next immediate thing you need to do is to set up all your social media channels.

Go and set up your Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube Accounts.

As you keep creating content, you’ll be able to use these social media channels to drive traffic to your blog and business, and also grow your business.

Your Job is to actually create these social media channels, post content and build your social media presence. It adds to your credibility.

People like to do business with people who are legit and have some sort of credibility.

10. Skype:

Skype is also another important tool for your online blog and business. People use Skype for Video or Audio calls with clients or customers.

It is a very handy software that’s free and can allow you to have free conversations with people from all over the world.

Please install skype and it will come in handy.

11: Time:

Time is one of the most obvious things you require to even build your blog and business. You can’t just have them all instantly.

Everything takes so much time and dedication upfront. There is a lot of time that goes into content creation, driving traffic, finding your customers or clients, etc.

Blog and Business Growth consumes a lot of time. You might as well be prepared for it when you get started.

But as soon as you produce more helpful content that’s targeted to your audience, you’ll soon be able to win the trust of your audience and then sell something.

12.Education & Training:

Investing in Education & Trainings is the best thing I’ve ever done after starting my blog and online business.

You can try your best with free content out there, but it won’t help you much.

Investing in education and training will help you speed up the process and cut your learning curve in half.

If you’re not sure what to invest in I’ll make a list of recommended courses and products to invest in growing your blog and business.

13. Your Accounting/ Bookkeeping Tool or software:

As your business grows you’ll want to keep track of your expenses and income. It’s better to get a Bookkeeping software rather than employing someone.

Because it’s expensive to run your business if you’re not making enough.

Also, it’s easier to file your Taxes and track every financial activity.

Get FreshBooks, it’s the most recommended Accounting/Bookkeeping Tool or Software out there.

14. Landing Page Builder:

The reason you need a landing page builder is to create lead magnets to either collect email addresses or get signups to your products or services.

Having a landing page builder like Instapage is so handy. It is also mobile optimized.

Most of your website visitors come from Mobiles and other handheld devices. It also is so easy to design them.

15. Email Marketing Software:

Once you’ve set up a landing page to collect the email addresses and other contact details to stay in touch with your subscribers.

At this point, an Email Marketing Tool or software comes into play. It allows you to mass communicate with everyone without writing every single one an email.

You can use Convertkit if you are a blogger. It gives you a 14-day trial to test out the software.

But if you are not a blogger, you can try GetResponse. It also has a 14-day trial as well as it allows you to sign up to their affiliate program that pays you every month 33% on anyone who signs up under your link.

So an email autoresponder is very crucial for your blog and business growth.
