Order Forms as what most websites need as there is increase in demand for people searching for how to create order forms in WordPress websites. So here we”ll show you how to create an order form that you can use on your website.

With the help of an order form you can choose to take online payments or not.

Here are the steps we will follow:

1.  Create A Simple Order Form In WordPress.

2. Configure Your Order Form Settings And Notifications.

3. Configure Payment Options (If Needed) and Add form to website.

Whatever kind of form you are looking to create, you can follow the steps below and create a form that is just a simple order form or a form that collects payments.

The first thing you’ll need to do is install and activate the WPForms plugin.

The easiest way to install the plugin is to download the plugin and go to Plugins >> Add New to install the plugin.

Once you’ve installed your plugin, go to WP Forms >> Add New to create a new form. You can find that on the left hand side of your WordPress Dashboard.

Next you have to name the form and then select the billing order/form template and start creating your form.

Next, you’ll have to modify what items are available to order.

To do this, you can scroll down to the “Available Items” section on the right that the template includes and click on it.

This will open up the “Field Options” in the left panel. Here you can rename the field, add or remove order items, and change the prices.

Make sure the form reflects the things you are selling or taking orders on.

If you want to give people images to choose from when filling out your online order form, you can click on the Use image choices checkbox in the Form Editor.

Using Images makes your form stand out, make your form attractive and stand out. Don’t overdo it, because people are used to forms being straight to the point and getting only the necessary data is sufficient.

Lastly, you can add additional fields to your order form by dragging them from the left hand side to the right hand side.

One additional tip: If you’d like you can use the power of discounts and add a coupon code field to your forms.

Now you can click save once your form is done.

There are some settings that you need to configure for your simple order form. The first settings is the Notifications setting. Notifications are a great way to send an email when your form is submitted. This way the customer knows the form has gone through successfully.

You can send an email notification to yourself, which WPForms does automatically unless you disable form notifications. You can also send a notification to a member of your team by adding their email to the Send to Email Address field.

In addition, if you use the smart tags function, you can even send a form notification to a customer to let them know their order has been received.

Let’s look at how to set up one form notification that will be sent out to a customer after they submit an order form on your website.

So you begin by clicking on the Settings tab in the Form Builder and then click on Notifications.

Refer the picture below.

Next, you have to customize which email address will receive a notification when a new order is submitted.

To include the email address of the person that filled out the online order form, which is your customer, click on the Show Smart Tags in the Send To Email Address field.

Refer Image below.

Next, click on Email so WPForms knows to send a notification to the email address that was entered on the order form submission.

Then, you can change your notification’s email subject to be more specific. However, you can customize the “From Name”, “From Email”, and “Reply-To” email.

And also, don’t forget to include a personalized message if the email is going to anyone but yourself. This will be handy.

If you want to include all of the information found in the form fields of the submitted order form, use the {all_fields} smart tag. This will help you get all the customer data together.

Here’s another thing you can do, so if you change these fields, you’ll know what is in that email when you receive the email notification and you can know exactly what the notification is for and who it came from.

The second setting that you’ve got to configure is the form confirmations. Form confirmations are messages that display for customers once they submit an order form. These message shows that the form you filled went through and it was successful.

There are three confirmation types you can choose from:

  1. Message. This is the default confirmation type in WPForms. When a customer submits an order form, a simple message confirmation will appear letting them know their form was processed.
  2. Show Page. This confirmation type will take customers to a specific web page on your site thanking them for their order.
  3. Go to URL (Redirect). This option is used when you want to send customers to a different website.

Now, let’s see how to set up a simple form confirmation within WPForms so that you can customize the message that people will see after submitting their orders on your order form.

First, you’ll have to click on the Confirmation tab in the Form Editor under Settings.

Next, you’ll have to select the type of confirmation type you’d like to create. For our example here, we’ll select Message.

This way you’ll show a message to our customer. Write out the message as in the image below.

Finally you can customize the confirmation message to what you want it to say, and click Save when you’re done.

Lastly, you’ll need to configure the payment settings for the order form by connecting it to the payment provider so you can collect online payments from customers.

WPForms actually integrates with PayPalAuthorize.Net, and Stripe payment processors for accepting payments. Because it offers way more than one way for customers to pay it’s a great way to reduce order form abandonment.

To configure the payment information settings on your order form, you’ll first have to install and activate the right payment addon.

Once you’ve done that, click the Payments tab in the Form Editor.

In our example, here we’ll set up PayPal to process orders. You can use others if you like, just head over to WPForms page and install the addon.

After you click PayPal, you have to enter your PayPal email address, select the Production mode, choose Products and Services, and adjust other settings as needed.

Once you’re done configuring the payment settings, you can click on Save to store your changes.

NOTE: If your form doesn’t need the payment options, you can skip this step.

Now that that is completed you are ready to add your simple order form to your website.

Basically, WPForms allows you to add your forms to many places on your website like blog posts, pages, and your sidebar.

Let’s take a look at the most common post / page embed option.

You need to create a new post or page. Then, click inside the first block (the blank area below your page title) and click on the Add WPForms icon.

Refer Image below.

There is the handy WPForms widget that will appear inside of the block. Then if you click on the WPForms dropdown and pick which of the forms you’ve already created that you want to insert into your page. Select your order form that we just created as in our example here.

Refer Image below.

Then, click on the blue button in the top right that says Publish, so your form will appear on your website.

If you want to add a simple order form to your site in the sidebar widget area, go to Appearance > Widgets.

Then, add a WPForms widget on to the sidebar. After that, select the Billing / Order Form from the drop-down menu and save the changes to the widgets area by clicking the save button.

Refer Image below.

Now you can view your published order form which will be live on your website. Note that when you select items on your form the price changes automatically.

So this is how you are able to create a simple order form in WordPress that accepts online payments.

If you don’t want to collect payments, simply remove that section where we discussed about payments and continue with the rest of the procedure.

You can get WPForms to create unlimited forms and do lot of things for your website. Plus the price is cheaper when compared to other form creators.
